A tax-benefit micro-simulation model - MAPP©
The MAPP© model, which was developed using Stata, provides a simulation of the effects of taxes and transfers (in-cash or in-kind) on the level of poverty and inequality of the Italian households. Furthermore, it is also used to simulate the implications of possible policy reforms as for taxes and benefits. The MAPP© model assesses not only the distributive effects of possible reforms, but also their potential impact on public expenditure and individual behaviours.
